Delete your Anchor account
Your recovery record belongs to you, including the decision to erase it. There are two ways to do it, and both delete the same things.
In the app (fastest)
Open Anchor and go to Profile → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm. Once you do, deletion begins immediately — you don't need to email anyone or wait for us to action it.
By email (if you no longer have the app)
Write to support@quitwithanchor.app from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm the request, delete the account, and email you when it's done. Most requests complete within 24 hours; in rare cases full deletion can take up to 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account, permanently:
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Every pattern you tracked, with all quit dates and streak history
- All check-ins, moods, cravings, triggers, and notes
- Slips, wins, pledges, and craving-button events
- Journal entries and written reflections
- Your anchor text, savings goals, and spend figures
- Every companion conversation transcript, voice and text
- Weekly reflections generated for you
- Any photos, videos, and messages stored in cloud backup
- Any accountability partner you invited, including their name and email address — they stop receiving notes immediately
- Feedback you submitted
Two things worth knowing
Deleting the app is not the same as deleting your account. If you simply remove Anchor from your phone, your account and any cloud backup stay intact so you can come back to them. Only account deletion erases them.
Media saved only on your phone is yours to remove. Photos, videos, and recorded messages in Your Anchor live on your device unless you enabled cloud backup. Deleting the app removes those local copies; deleting your account removes any cloud copies.
What we may keep, and why
Your subscription and payment records are held by Apple or Google, not by us — manage or cancel those in your App Store or Google Play account. We may retain minimal transaction records where the law requires it, and anonymous, non-identifying operational logs that cannot be traced back to you.
Cancelling a subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription, because billing lives with the store. Cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
